Alexander Emile Francis William "Willy" van Schoonhoven van Beurden (1883-1963) Dutch painter of landscapes, flowers, figures and cityscapes. Schoonhoven van Beurden finished drawing classes in Amsterdam and then took lessons with the painter Rob Graafland. His painting was probably influenced by Jan Toorop. From 1908 to 1925 the artist lived and worked in Laren. There, he painted landscapes, farms and peasant figures. In 1925 came Schoonhoven van Beurden in the capital, where he besides working as a freelance artist painting at the Amsterdam Lyceum taught. Schoonhoven van Beurden died in 1963.
