Biography
George Weidenbacher (1905 Nördlingen - 1984 Fuerth) belongs to missing generation of expressive realism. 1923-1928 Studied at the art school in Nuremberg, a master student of Hermann Gradl. 1928 Weidenbacher worked as an industrial designer, from 1929 to 1945 as a freelance painter. 1932 Dürer winners. 1946-1973 teacher at the vocational high school in Nuremberg. Founding member of the artists' associations "The Circle", the "Kunstverein Erlangen" in his new town after the war and the "Independent Group". In 1971 George Weidenbacher the Federal Cross of Merit. He was involved from 1935 - 1975 of numerous regional and national exhibitions. The Artist's estate was bequeathed to his home town of Fürth. 1994 - ten years after the death of the artist - was a memorial exhibition at the Palais Sutterheim be realized in Erlangen.
